Everyone is aware that storks deliver infants, but where do they obtain the young? The answer lies in the stratosphere, where cloud people sculpt and bring to life babies made of clouds. Gus, a lonely, insecure grey cloud, is an expert at producing "hazardous" offspring. Crocodiles, porcupines, and rams, among others - Gus's adored creations are pieces of beauty, but a burden for his faithful delivery stork, Peck. As Gus's creations get increasingly unruly, Peck's job becomes increasingly difficult. How will Peck manage his perilous cargo and his friend's volatile temperament?
