Girlfriends is an American comedy-drama sitcom that debuted on September11,2000, on UPN, and continued to air on UPN's successor network, The CW, until it was canceled in2008. Girlfriends was produced in the United States. On February11,2008, the series' conclusion was shown on television. When Girlfriends came back for its eighth season in the fall of 2007, it became the longest-running live-action sitcom on network television that was airing that year. Additionally, it became one of the highest-rated scripted shows on television among African American adults and women 18-34, including its spin-off The Game, which was also one of the highest-rated scripted shows on television.
