Duel
In December2007, ABC aired Duel, a popular American game show hosted by Mike Greenberg. From Monday through Friday, 8 p.m. EST was the time for the six-episode tournament, which concluded on Sunday with the grand finale. One reviewer compared it to a combination between Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and the World Series of Poker on the show's website. Wrong responses to trivia questions contributed to a growing prize as players competed head-to-head in a head-to-head gaming mode. It was Ashlee Register who won $1,720,000 in the Duel jackpot and a total of nearly $1.8 million when her prior prizes were included, making her the first female game show money winner in the United States at the time. The second season aired weekly from April 4 to July25,2008, at 9:00 p.m., with changed regulations.
