Pinky
Pinky, a black woman with light skin, goes to her grandmother's house in the South after graduating from a nursing school in the North. Pinky tells her grandmother that she has been "passing" for white at school in the North. Also, Pinky has fallen in love with a young white doctor, Dr. Thomas Adams, who doesn't know anything about her black heritage.
