Penny Serenade
Cary Grant and Irene Dunne feature in this light-hearted romantic drama about a couple who meets, falls in love, quarrels, then reconciles. Julie Gardiner Adams (Irene Dunne) begins ruminating on her past while listening to a tape of "Penny Serenade." She reminisces about her hasty marriage to newspaper reporter Roger Adams (Cary Grant), which begins deliriously happy but ends tragically. Other songs bring back memories of their courtship, marriage, longing for a child, and the pleasures and sorrows they had. As she muses on their current issues and how they came to be, a rush of recollections floods her mind.
