Under the Hawthorn Tree
Schoolgirl Jing Qiu (Zhou Dong-Yu), who is the daughter of a right-winger, is exiled to the countryside for the sake of reeducation and is given the responsibility of assisting in the writing of a textbook. There, she makes the acquaintance of Lao San, a young soldier played by Shawn Dou who has an exciting future in front of him. Despite the social barrier and their parents' condemnation, two people might find love in the midst of stormy times.
