S.E.R.P.
In response to the query "is the government of the United States evil?," a bright computer programmer gets arrested and held in solitary confinement for a short period of time. For his own safety, he strikes a bargain with the interrogators, agreeing to redesign the software in exchange for his freedom. Throughout their quest to comprehend how and why the software responded to an ethical question and their efforts to find a means to change its response, the faith and patience of both the programmer and his captors are tested to the limit. S.E.R.P. is a suspenseful and darkly comic film that explores themes of compulsion, creativity, and whether it is possible to do something good in the service of evil.
