X Factor

The X Factor is a music talent program shown on Dutch television. Aspiring pop singers compete for a spot on the show by participating in public auditions. In the Netherlands, you can catch it on the RTL4 Network every Friday evening. The first season of the show ran from October 2006 to February 2007, while the second season of the show aired from January 2009 all the way through May of that same year. Blue Circle is responsible for producing the show, which is currently supported financially by Fiat. The indefinable "something" that contributes to a person's star quality is what the title refers to as the "X Factor." Idols, which had been a huge ratings success, went off the air after its third and fourth seasons to make way for X Factor, which took its place. Contestants perform vocals in front of the X Factor judges during the show's preliminary audition round, which is broadcast on television, in the goal of advancing to the "boot camp" phase of the competition. Following an additional round of judging, each of the panelists is allotted a specific category to oversee, and the contest's chosen finalists then move on to the next round, in which the general audience casts their votes based on the acts' live performances. The current panel of judges consists of a former member of Dolly Dots named Angela Groothuizen, a rapper named Ali Bouali, and an alto saxophonist named Candy Dulfer. Pop singer and television host Gordon Heuckeroth is also on the panel. The inaugural season of The X Factor started airing in October 2006 and continued through February 2007. It was not quite as popular as American Idol. Sharon Kips was victorious in the competition. The success rate for the second season, which ran from January through May of 2009, was significantly higher. It was won by Lisa Hordijk. Jaap van Reesema emerged victorious in the third series. The fourth set was a victory for Rochelle Perts. Haris Alagic prevailed as champion of the fifth series.
