Undateable is a state that many people experience at some point in their lives, whether it's because they lack style, are in the wrong profession, or even have a horrible haircut. We all eventually get over it, but some folks need a little more support. Danny Burton is here to take the stage.. After moving in with his roommate Justin Kearney and his strange pals, Danny – who may be in a condition of arrested development himself – agrees to help out with his new roommate's business, Shelly's bar, and his friends, Burski and Brett. Danny's recently divorced older sister, Leslie, joins the gang, and the two form an immediate bond through their shared sense of adversity. A majority of their time is spent drinking beer together and solving each other's problems, even though they enjoy teasing each other about their own personal issues. The following is a synopsis of the story: Danny Burton is a 30-something single guy who has witnessed most of his friends find long-term relationships. Danny is on the lookout for a new roommate as his last surviving pal Shannon decides to get married. Candidate Justin, proprietor of the Detroit bar Black Eyes, shows promise (frequently mispronounced "Black Guys Bar"). There are certain characteristics in Justin's buddies, like geek Burski, quirky Shelly, and recently outed gay Brett, that make them appear "undateable." Even though Danny has a good track record of getting women into bed, he is unable or unwilling to develop a long-term relationship. Leslie, Danny's stunning sister, also worries about being undateable due to her "baggage" as a divorcee in her 30s.
