The Librarians

ABC TV in Australia broadcasted the pilot episode of the comedy series The Librarians for the first time on October 31, 2007. RTÉ Two is the channel that broadcasts the show in Ireland. Robyn Butler and Wayne Hope, who also play leading roles in the show, are the creators, showrunners, and producers of the series. Additionally, Hope directs each episode of the series. The first season consisted of a total of six episodes that were each half an hour long. The second season of the show, which consisted of additional six episodes and began broadcasting on August 5, 2009, was shot at the Royal Melbourne Showgrounds. Frances O'Brien, a head librarian who is both deeply religious and openly bigoted, is at the center of the drama that unfolds over the course of this series. When she is compelled to hire her former best friend, Christine Grimwood, who is now a drug dealer, to work as the children's librarian, her life begins to fall apart. Frances needs to do everything in her power to keep her dangerous past under control so that she may give her whole attention to Book Week, the most important event on the library's annual schedule. Early in2010, production began on a third series, which ultimately went on to debut on ABC1 that same year. The soundtrack for The Librarians is a lively variant on the popular jazz chart "A Night in Tunisia" by Dizzy Gillespie. The original song was written in 1941.
