The Good Guys
Dan Stark and his colleague Frank Savage were prominent Dallas detectives in the 1970s. As a result of saving the Governor's son, they were hailed as American heroes. Dan Stark, thirty years later, is a retired detective who spends most of his time drinking and reminiscing about his glory days. Jack Bailey, Dan's new colleague, is an ambitious, rule-following, and generally competent investigator who is occasionally a bit too sarcastic for his own good. His propensity of undercutting himself has gotten him a dead-end post in the department, where he is tasked with resolving infuriating cases of petty theft that nobody else wants. Worse, he has been assigned the unenviable chore of babysitting Dan, the alcoholic pariah who can never maintain a relationship.
