The Affair

After meeting in the vacation town of Montauk on Long Island, the protagonists of the show, Noah Solloway and Alison Lockhart, embark on an extramarital affair. The Affair delves into the psychological repercussions of this affair. Noah is a schoolteacher in New York City. He has already had one of his novels published (it's called "A Person who Visits a Place"), but he's having trouble writing a second book. He has a loving wife and four children, but he resents the fact that he is financially dependent on his affluent father-in-law. Alison, a young woman who works as a waitress, is grieving the loss of her kid and is attempting to put her life and marriage back together after the tragedy. The male and female points of view, each having their own individual set of memory biases, each relate their version of the affair in their own unique way.
