Salatut elämät debuted on MTV3 in 1999. The only Finnish daily soap opera. Over 2,500 episodes have aired in 14 years. Salatut elämät will air until spring 2015, making it the second-longest-running drama in Finland, behind Yle TV1's Kotikatu. The series follows various families in the same Helsinki apartment building. The show focuses on Pihlajakatu and its neighbors. Seppo, Ismo, and Kalle are the only original twenty characters still in the series. Most of the new characters debuted in 2008 or later. MTV3 airs weekend replays. In the summer, the channel showed episodes from 2006–2007 and 2007–2008. Romeo & Rafael Desperados (2008), Lillukanvarsia (2010), Tuuliranta (2011), and "Young guy cash man" (2013) are web spin-offs.
