Rescue Me is a British romantic comedy TV show that aired on BBC One in 2002. It was made by Tiger Aspect Productions. David Nicholls made it and wrote most of it. Sally Phillips plays Katie Nash, a woman who is getting over her divorce while also writing about relationships for Eden, a women's magazine where she works. From November to December 2001, the show was filmed. It had six episodes, and on average, 3.4 million people watched on Sunday nights, which was 15% of the audience at that time. Due to low ratings, the show was not picked up for a second season, leaving a cliffhanger. Before Nicholls found out that the second season of Rescue Me had been canceled, he had already written four episodes for it. So, he took a break from writing screenplays to work on his first book, Starter for Ten. The theme song for the series is a cover of "Rescue Me" by Oliver Darley.
