Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares is a British television show hosted by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. The BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning series first aired on Channel 4 in 2004. In each episode, Ramsay visits a failing restaurant and serves as a troubleshooter to help the establishment improve in just one week. Ramsay returns to the restaurant a few months later to see how things have gone. Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares Revisited re-edited episodes from series one and two with new material; they featured Ramsay checking in on restaurants a year or more after he attended to them. Ramsay announced in October 2009 that after his four-year contract expired in 2011, he would no longer be working on Kitchen Nightmares and would instead focus on his other shows. On 30 January 2009, Ramsay's Great British Nightmare aired on Channel 4 as part of 'The Great British Food Fight,' a two-week series of food-related programming. In the show, Ramsay urged viewers to support local restaurants, especially in this difficult economic climate.
