Police Squad!
Police Squad! is a television comedy series developed by David Zucker, Jim Abrahams, and Jerry Zucker, and starring Leslie Nielsen. It first aired on television in 1982. The series featured the usual sight gags, wordplay, and non sequiturs from Zucker, Abrahams, and Zucker. It was a satire of numerous television programs and films, but it resembled Lee Marvin's M Squad and the 1960s series Felony Squad in particular. The sitcom inspired the lucrative Naked Gun film series, despite being canceled after only six episodes. TV Guide ranked it seventh on their 2013 list of 60 "Canceled Too Soon" series.
