Poldark
Britain is in a deep recession, with falling wages, rising prices, and civil unrest - only the bankers are smiling. It's 1783, and Ross Poldark returns to his beloved Cornwall from the American War of Independence to find his world in ruins: his father dead, the family mine long since closed, his house destroyed, and his sweetheart pledging to marry his cousin.
