Nisekoi follows high school students Raku Ichijo, the son of a leader in the yakuza faction Shuei-Gumi, and Chitoge Kirisaki, the daughter of a Beehive boss. When Chitoge leaps over a wall and knees Raku in the face, they meet unintentionally. Raku finds he has lost the necklace given to him by his childhood sweetheart, with whom he made a secret vow. After learning that Chitoge is a new transfer student in his class, he pushes her to assist him in his search for the locket. They learn to loathe each other during the search. [8] Raku discovers upon his return home that the Shuei-Gumi and Beehive gangs have decided to end their conflict by coupling the offspring of their respective bosses. Raku discovers that Chitoge will be his future girlfriend. To maintain peace between the gangs, they must pretend to be in a relationship for the next three years. This proves to be quite a difficult chore, not only because of their mutual enmity, but also because Raku has a secret crush on another classmate, Kosaki Onodera, whom he wishes was the girl who has the key to his locket. Chitoge's overprotective bodyguard, a female hitwoman, a girl who claims to be Raku's fiancée, and the existence of additional keys all complicate the scenario.
