Meet the Press airs weekly on NBC. It's the longest-running TV series in American broadcasting history, despite hardly resembling its 1947 beginning. Meet the Press is the top-rated Sunday morning talk show. Martha Rountree was the first moderator. David Gregory took over in December 2008. The show started using a new set on May 2, 2010, with video screens and a library-style set with bookshelves, and different, modified intro music, with David Gregory previewing the guests using a large video screen, and with the Meet the Press theme music in a shorter "modernized" style with drum beats. Meet the Press and similar shows interview national leaders on politics, economy, foreign policy, and other matters. The program's regular NBC time slot is 9-10 a.m. local time in most markets, though this may change due to affiliate commitments to religious, E/I, or local news and public affairs programming. NBC Sports' morning coverage of the French Open or Monaco Grand Prix affects it during the summer. Previously, the show aired every Sunday at 12:00. The program re-airs Sundays at 2 p.m. ET and Mondays at 4 a.m. ET on MSNBC and NBC's "All Night" schedule. The program is syndicated by Dial Global and carried on C-SPAN Radio's Sunday morning conversation shows.
