Lost Worlds

The History Channel's Lost Worlds is a documentary television series that investigates a variety of "lost" sites from ancient to present times. The utilization of archaeological data, interviews with relevant experts while visiting the locations, and CGI representations illustrate these "giant marvels of engineering, technology, and culture." These visual re-creations take the shape of generated 3D environments and photo-manipulated overlays that allow the "lost world" to be seen over the current one. On April4,2005, the pilot episode "Palenque: Metropolis of the Maya" broadcast for the first time. In2006, 12 more episodes were released, followed by 19 more in 2007.
