Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth

Sam Maekjong is the son of the dead king and current queen regent, Jiso, during the Silla dynasty. However, he has been kept in secret for protection ever since he was a young boy, when his father was murdered. Over the years, powerful nobles have unsuccessfully attempted to steal power from Jiso, prompting her to become apprehensive and eventually reluctant to cede the crown. As her son reaches adulthood, she forms the Hwarang, an elite club of young men who train in combat and education. Sam Maekjong, under the alias Kim Ji-Dwi, is among their ranks, unbeknownst to other Hwarang members, despite their existence cutting across all current power groupings.
