Green Acres
Green Acres is an American sitcom about a couple who move from New York City to a farm in the country. It stars Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor. The series was made by Filmways as a sister show to Petticoat Junction. From September 15, 1965, to April 27, 1971, it was shown on CBS. Green Acres ran for six years and got good ratings. In 1971, CBS ended the show as part of a "rural purge." The sitcom has been shown in many places and is now on DVD and VHS. In 1997, "A Star Named Arnold Is Born," a two-part episode, was ranked #59 on TV Guide's list of the 100 Greatest Episodes of All Time.
