Chris Gifferd and Valerie Walsh created the children's television programme Go, Diego, Go! as a spin-off of Dora the Explorer. The series debuted on Nickelodeon on September 6, 2005, and ran until September 16, 2011. In addition, it ran from September 17, 2005 through September 9, 2006 as part of the Nick Jr. on CBS block. On December20,2006, Nick Jr. announced that twenty new episodes had been ordered and were currently in production. The show has been dubbed into Spanish and broadcast on Univision's Planeta U block in the United States since April 2008.
