Adam Reed and Matt Thompson are responsible for the creation of the American animated cartoon series Frisky Dingo, which airs on Adult Swim. The sitcom centered on a battle between a supervillain known as Killface and a superhero known as Awesome X, also known as billionaire Xander Crews. A significant portion of the show's humor is centered on making fun of tropes that are common in superhero and action movies. It made its debut on October 16, 2006, and the first season of the show came to a close on January 22, 2007; the second season began airing on August 26, 2007, and ran through March 23, 2008. The pre-production of a third season was halted due to the lack of a renewed contract from Adult Swim, despite the fact that a third season was in the process of being developed. In the end, the production firm known as 70/30 Productions was unable to remain in business and closed its doors in January of 2009. On November9,2008, a spin-off show called The Xtacles made its debut; however, the production firm went out of business before more than two episodes could be shown.
