Flipper is an American TV show made by Ivan Tors Films and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Television. It was first shown on NBC from September 19, 1964, to April 15, 1967. Porter Ricks, the Chief Warden of the made-up Coral Key Park and Marine Preserve in southern Florida, and his two young sons, Sandy and Bud, live with Flipper, a bottlenose dolphin. People have called the show a "aquatic Lassie," and during its first run, a lot of kids' products were made based on it.
