Fear Factor is an American reality show about sports stunts and dares. It was on TV from 2001 to 2006, when it was stopped. Later, in2011, it came back, but on May13,2012, it was cancelled again. After its second cancellation, in July 2012, a two-part special aired. When it was first written in Dutch, it was called Now or Neverland. When Endemol USA and NBC brought it to the US in 2001, they called it "Fear Factor." Contestants compete against each other in different stunts to win the grand prize, which is usually US $50,000. From Seasons 1 to5, most of the contestants were three men and three women competing for themselves. In Season6, the show changed to a permanent format of four teams of two people who already knew each other. The show was hosted by comedian and UFC commentator Joe Rogan. Matt Kunitz and David A. Hurwitz were in charge of producing it, and J. Rupert Thompson was in charge of directing it.
