An American CGI animated television series, Fanboy & Chum Chum, was produced by Eric Robles for Nickelodeon. On August 14, 2008, Random! Cartoons aired Fanboy, an animated short by Robles for Nickelodeon and Frederator Studios. 5.8 million people tuned in to watch the show's premiere. 5.4 million people tuned in to catch the second episode. The Mae Shi, an experimental punk band, performed the theme tune written by Brad Joseph Breeck. This year's upfront for Nickelodeon didn't reveal any new seasons.
