Dororo
For forty-eight demons, a samurai lord has traded the organs of his unborn son in return for military power. It is owing to a medicine man who provides him with rudimentary prosthetics—some of which can be deadly–that the aggrieved son can hunt down demons and restore his body piece by piece before confronting the guy who wronged him in the first place. The young hero meets an orphan on his trips who claims to be Japan's best thief.
