Tsukasa Hojo is the author and illustrator of the Cat's Eye manga series, which was originally published in Japan. It ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1981 until1985, and then Shueisha collected the individual chapters into a total of 18 tankobon. The three Kisugi sisters, Hitomi, Rui, and Ai, are the protagonists of this tale. These women are art thieves who are on a mission to steal all of their absent father's paintings and other valuables. The manga was adapted into a televised anime series that was first shown on NTV from 1983 to1984. After that, a second season was aired that lasted until 1985. In addition to that, it was turned into a live-action movie twice: once for television in 1988 and once for theaters in 1997. With over 18 million copies sold, Cat's Eye is consistently ranked as one of the best-selling manga series in the history of Weekly Shonen Jump. A number of nations outside of Japan have also shown the anime series, including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Philippines, and China. After airing the first season of the first anime on ImaginAsian TV in2007, ImaginAsian then granted the series its debut home video distribution in North America. ImaginAsian TV is the first anime channel in the United States. Right Stuf Inc. made the announcement in 2013 that they had obtained a license for the series and will publish it on DVD using their Nozomi label. The first issue of Coamix's Monthly Comic Zenon anthology, which was released on October25,2010, marked the beginning of publishing of a remake manga of the series illustrated by Shingo Asai and also titled Cat's Eye. This manga was also titled Cat's Eye.
