Canal Road
This is a Nine Network television show about a dysfunctional family in Australia. Producer Susan Bower worked with writers Sarah Smith, John Ridley and Dave Warner, as well as director Kevin Carlin, to create the series. It was shot at Channel Nine's GTV Studio 11 in Melbourne, as well as at various locations throughout the city. Cost estimates put the total cost of the series at A$10 million. Beginning on April 16, 2008, the 13-part series aired. It debuted to a mixed critical reviews and ordinary ratings, which were further eroded when the series was shifted to a later timeslot. A total of 360,000 viewers tuned in to watch Canal Road's seventh episode, however the eighth episode was still available online. Nine finished airing the episodes in August and December of that year. It was released in Australia on August4,2008, on DVD.
