Blue's Clues

After premiering on Nickelodeon on September 8, 1996 and running for 10 years, Blue's Clues is a popular American children's television series. Angela Santomero, Todd Kessler and Traci Paige Johnson used cutting-edge animation and production techniques in their series to teach audiences about early childhood development and early childhood education principles. Donovan Patton took over hosting duties after Steve Burns left in 2002 to focus on his music career. Because of his contributions to the show's popularity, speculations about Burns' leaving were an early sign that it was becoming an international sensation. With Blue's Clues, Nickelodeon was able to establish themselves as the number one preschool show in the United States. According to critics, it is one of the most successful, critically-lauded, and groundbreaking preschool television series of all time. In 2004, a spin-off series titled Blue's Room debuted. Repetition was employed to reinforce the show's curriculum and each episode was constructed in the same way by the producers and writers. After thirty years of Sesame Street airing in the United States, they drew on studies on young children's growth and viewing habits. Because they encouraged participation from the audience, they had a huge impact on the field. The show's creative and decision-making process was aided by research, which was incorporated into every level of the creative process. Preschoolers' first cutout animation series, Blue's Clues, used primary colors and simple construction paper shapes to depict recognizable items in various shades and textures. For American kids, the show had a familiar feel but a distinctive aesthetic. After the show's producers created a number of production advances, a live production of Blue's Clues began touring the United States in 1999. At the end of 2002, more than 2 million people had seen more than 1,000 shows.
