Five-time Emmy Award winner Neil Patrick Harris will star in a new primetime variety series on NBC based on the wildly famous "Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway" from the United Kingdom. The show will contain comedic skits, musical numbers, small game shows, hidden camera pranks on celebrities, and guest appearances by A-list celebrities. Harris, who has hosted the Emmy and Tony Awards and was recently named presenter of the 2015 Academy Awards, will put his multifaceted skills on display in this new hour-long series. Harris recently co-starred in David Fincher's "Gone Girl" and earned the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical for his role in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch." He portrayed Barney Stinson on "How I Met Your Mother" for nine seasons, for which he got four Emmy and two Golden Globe nods.
