During a regular check of an ancient cottage in the wintery wilderness, Finnish policewoman Nina Kautsalo uncovers two dead prostitutes and a third who is still battling for her life. When an exceedingly uncommon and lethal virus is detected in the bloodwork of the surviving woman, the investigation takes an unexpected turn.
