1990
The series is set in a dystopian future where Britain is ruled by the Home Office's Department of Public Control (PCD), which is a tyrannical, oppressive bureaucracy that rides roughshod over the people's civil liberties. Edward Woodward plays Jim Kyle, a journalist for the last independent newspaper, The Star, who goes rogue and starts fighting the PCD in secret. In turn, the PCD officials try to find proof of Kyle's subversive activities.
