Whisky Galore!
On a real-life basis. S/S Politician was the name of the genuine ship that sank on February5,1941, during World War II. In heavy weather, the ship carrying 250,000 bottles of whisky from Liverpool to Jamaica perished in Eriskay, the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. There are still some bottles recovered in the sand or in the sea every other year after the residents gathered as many as they could before police came.
