Wadjda is a 10-year-old girl who lives in a suburb of Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh. Wadjda lives in a conservative world, but she likes to have fun, is an entrepreneur, and is always trying to see how far she can go. Wadjda gets into a fight with her friend Abdullah, a boy from the neighborhood she shouldn't play with, and then she sees a beautiful green bicycle for sale. She really wants the bike so she can race against Abdullah and win. But Wadjda's mother won't let her because she thinks that riding a bicycle is bad for a girl's reputation.
