Veronika Voss
In 1955, Veronika Voss, a German film star, becomes a drug addict at the mercy of the corrupt Dr. Marianne Katz, who keeps her morphine supply topped up. Veronika begins to fantasize about a return to fame after meeting sports writer Robert Krohn. As the couple's relationship becomes more intense, Veronika begins seriously considering a return to the screen, only to realize how crippled she has become as a result of her drug addiction.
