Alan Ladd plays Charles Stewart, the son of a shipping tycoon. In 1834, Charles Stewart is snatched from the Pilgrim, which is one of his father's ships. He is a spoiled, irresponsible boy. Captain Francis Thompson (Howard Da Silva) and his first mate, Amazeen, rule the seas with an iron fist. He takes him on a long, hellish journey (William Bendix).
