Rebecca (Moore), a high-achieving actress, must come to terms with her failing marriage to Tom, a stay-at-home father (Duchovny). During this time, Rebecca's lazy brother, Tobey (Billy Crudup), can't seem to commit to his aspiring-novelist girlfriend, Elaine (Kathryn Hahn), who is also a writer (Maggie Gyllenhaal). In order to regain control of their respective relationships, the two couples set out to relive the wonder and romanticism of first falling in love in New York.
