Mia and Mackie Castillo, 14 years old and dancers since they were toddlers, star in To the Beat. That has been their one real interest since they were three years old. Even though they dance in distinct styles, they support each other throughout contests and rehearsals. Mackie is a jazz fan, while Mia is a tap fan. When their favorite pop musician holds an online contest to identify the most original dance group for his new music video, the twins organize their own teams to compete for the chance to dance in the video, enlisting the support of their friends and family to garner online votes. Meanwhile, Avery, their arch rival and neighbor, is the best dancer of all (and she knows it), and she utilizes her charm and resources to get an advantage in the battle.
