In the wrist of the wearer, a TiMER clocks down to the day on which he or she will meet their soul mate. Oona O'Leary, on the other hand, finds herself in the unusual situation of having a blank TiMER. Her soul mate - whoever and wherever he may be - has not yet been implanted with a TiMER. Due to her impending 30th birthday and growing impatient with her would-be life partner, Oona defies her own standards and falls for Mikey, a charming and excessively young supermarket worker with a four-month countdown to her wedding day with him.
