'Tot altijd,' based on a true event, introduces us to a group of friends in the 1980s who spend their days reminiscing about their youth and stormy (love) lives. Years later, when Thomas, Mario's closest friend and a recent medical graduate, diagnoses Mario with MS, he finds himself between a rock and a hard place (Multiple Sclerosis). Though not fatal, the condition gradually eats away at the patient's bodily functioning and, in some circumstances, their intellect. Mario becomes the public face of the action organization "Waardig Sterven" ("Dignified Death"), which advocates for the legalization of euthanasia in Belgium. Thomas does everything he can to keep his best buddy from passing away, but he can't face seeing him deteriorate...
