Following the horrific car accident that she witnessed firsthand, which resulted in the deaths of her composer husband and their little daughter, Julie is tormented by her grief. Her immediate response is to cut herself off from her relationships, shut herself up in her apartment, and try to bury her feelings of suffering. But avoiding human contact on the crowded streets of Paris becomes impossible, and she finally runs across Olivier, an old acquaintance who has a secret love for her and who has the potential to bring her back to reality.
