The Virgin Spring
Sincere Christians Töre and Märeta dispatch their only daughter, the virgin Karin, and their foster daughter, the unrepentant Ingeri, to deliver candles to a remote church. On their journey through the woods, the girls encounter a band of barbaric goat herders who raped and murdered Karin while Ingeri hid. When the murderers mistakenly seek refuge at Töre and Märeta's farmhouse, Töre designs an appropriate retribution.
