Billionaire Pierre Levasseur, caught with his mistress Elena, a famous and gorgeous fashion model, invents a ridiculous narrative to avoid divorce. He uses a bystander in the shot to convince his wife that Elena is meeting another man, François Pignon. Pignon is a parking valet who is quiet and unassuming. Elena has to move in with Pignon for the tale to work.
