Once upon a time... in the faraway kingdom of Dor... lived a brave and pious mouse with comically large ears who aspired to be a knight. Despereaux, expelled from his house for having such lofty aims, embarks on an extraordinary adventure with his good-hearted rat buddy Roscuro, who eventually takes him on a very noble quest to rescue an endangered princess and save a whole country from darkness.
