The Super

A cruel landlord who has neglected to maintain up his ghetto flat is threatened with jail time by Joe Pesci's character, Louie Kritski. His rat-infested hell hole is rat-infested, yet he accepts the judge's offer to remain there until he makes it liveable. While serving his sentence, Louie meets many of his tenants, among them heroin dealer Marlon (Ruben Blades). Throughout the course of the story, Louie's selfishness becomes increasingly apparent to him, and he begins to see the consequences of his actions. Due to the fact that the real owner of the land is Louie's father, Big Lou Kritski (Vincent Gardenia), Louie is unable to persuade his father to spend the money to clean it up.
