Nick Stahl plays Joshua Lazarus, a telepath reared in an NSA foster family. Lazarus uses his talents to aid the authorities. It's explained to him by the agency that he'll go insane and die from Widmann's Disease as a result of his telepathy. When Lazarus meets Taryn Manning, a woman with similar abilities, but no symptoms of the disease, he is forced to confront the lies he has been told about his own abilities.
