The Song of Bernadette

"A gorgeous lady" appears in the city rubbish in 1858 France. The locals all presume it's the virgin Mary, even though she never claims it to be anything else. The pretentious government officials think she's insane and try to suppress her and her supporters, while the church stays out of it. However, as Bernadette's fame grows, the phenomenon sweeps the town and changes everyone's life.
