Tess Delaney is shocked to learn from the executor of her father's estate, Damhnaic McAuley, that she has inherited one half of an apple orchard from a father she has never met and that she also has a half-sister who she was unaware of. When she goes to the orchard to meet her newfound relatives, that's when she finds out that the business is in serious financial trouble. Tess's expertise as an antiques expert, along with that of her half-sister, is being put to use as they investigate the "treasure" that their grandmother kept for them, which may be the answer to preserving the orchard. And by going through this process, Tess is ultimately able to arrive at a deeper comprehension of who she is.
